Layers Magazine has an excellent tutorial by Jeff Finley, on how to create a t-shirt design with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator in vector graphics.
We particularly like the section about preparing your artwork for screen printers:
“Now that the design is created, what do you do with it? In most cases as a designer, you will be sending the proper files to a screenprinter. All screenprinters are different and may require different file formats. Some have prepress people that do all the color separations and can work with almost anything you send them, as long as it’s high enough resolution to keep the detail on the shirt once it’s printed.
So here are some tips for preparing your file for your screenprinter:
1.) Choose Pantone Colors – Some printers can match colors, but if color accuracy is important to you, you should choose the exact pantone colors that you want your design printed with.
2.) Prepare your design at the exact size it will be on the shirt. If your design is going to be a full chest print, then it should be around 11 inches wide. Set up Illustrator to the correct dimensions and make sure your design is that big.”
We agree that it is important that you set the scale and provide colour refs as this ensures your design prints how you want it to look. Indigo has some artwork guidelines online if you still feel confused.

London Fashion week always catches the eye of us girls (and Alex) in the office. Instead of this seasons stunning dresses, it was actually the t-shirts that had us talking, more so the hype surrounding Manchester born designer Henry Holland’s ‘House of Holland’ collection.
Designer Gareth Pugh even wore one to celebrate the end of his show! Having actually brought a House of Holland design bearing the slogan ‘Treat me mean Alexander McQueen’ just a few weeks before, I was amused to see what other slogans he would produce. The official website, www.houseofholland.co.uk, has a small catalogue containing some of the single colour printed designs available to buy online, under the two sections ‘Fashion Groupies’ and ‘Pleb or celeb’. The latter displaying real tongue in cheek humour, mocking Coleen and co, as-well and Z-list ex big brother ’star’ Michelle Bass.

You can even zoom in to see single buildings in which stores are. Have look at this little video presentation.

Krudmart, an online, US based, t-shirt store, have a sale on. Their graphic above says it all really. I have ordered from them before, they ship to the UK, no problems.
New-kid-on-the-block, travel guide/wiki/travel toolbox, Unearth Travel, is camping out on the Indigo server (aka Ange) for the foreseeable future so their brand new Web 2.0-style site can zip along at high speeds.
Unearth has been hand crafted over the past six months by Jeremy, Rob and Pip, who work in the Indigo office, each day crafting more travel-related goodness from Flash, JavaScript, PHP and blood, sweat and tears.
