Merry Christmas

Wishing all our clients, suppliers, friends and supporters a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

Soft Shell Promotion

A few weeks ago, Indigo Clothing carried out a Jerzees Soft-Shell promotion, sending out jackets and info packs to some selected clients. Was so lovely to get this email in response:

Hello Jo,

I don’t know if you had anything to do with organising it but I received a complimentary sample of your latest jacket in the post this week…

Firstly, I just wanted to say thank you. But more importantly I wanted to report back how great I thought it was. I must admit that I put it to the ultimate test this week and cycled home in it on Monday evening (a particularly cold and windy night). I cycle over ten miles to work and have been getting rather cold lately but with your new jacket on I stayed snug the whole way home.

I do have other coats that would also keep me warm but would leave me sweaty from the exercise, not to mention their bulk. Your breathable jacket really did let me breath while also completely sheltering me from the freezing wind.

So thank you and well done! Good luck with the sales, I will certainly keep in mind should we have the need for a jacket within the coming year.

Best wishes,

Catherine Hoskins

Yahoo! Shortcuts Free T-Shirt

Yahoo

Yahoo! Shortcuts is a WordPress blog plugin that enhances your blog with Yahoo! content. Yahoo! are offering a free t-shirt to the first 500 bloggers to show them Yahoo! Shortcuts in action on your blog. Sadly offer is only open to US residents so us Brits miss out. However, I don’t know if we really want another t-shirt in the office anyway!

Grumpy Ghosts

Grumpy Ghosts

Not sure about the fella with the beard but this ‘Grumpy Ghosts‘ t-shirt from Black Sea Apparel is worth a second look. A nice bright cyan with white front print onto an American Apparel tee. Simplicity is king. Black Sea Apparel (BSA) is hosted on the Downtown Rivals network, a US company that provides web stores, printing and fulfilment for bands and small fashion businesses like BSA.

Paper Round

Paper-Round

It is that time of year when it is time to put one’s house (or office) in order and do some filing. A handy help in disposing of all the old white paper lying around is Paper Round. Paper Round was founded in 1989 by Friends of the Earth (FoE) and is now a successful standalone business recycling for over 3,500 London offices.

Indigo Clothing takes different types of recycling bins from Paper Round on their ‘pay-as-you-go’ style service, which is both good for our overheads and for the environment. We just dump waste in one of their handy bins and when they are full, give them a ring and they pick-up, only charging when they make a collection.

In 2008, as a company, Indigo are making even more efforts to build an ethical brand. For each garment manufacturer on the website, we are going to add an ethical profile so you know what you are getting and where it has come from. Last  month we expanded our organic clothing section and, going forward, will continue to grow this part of the business as more and more suppliers jump on the eco-bandwagon.

Channel 4 Green Guide

Indigo was pleased to be featured on Channel 4’s Green website in the ‘green shopping’ section. Indigo Clothing has been committed to offering ethical alternatives to mass-produced cotton and has a dedicated organic cotton t-shirt section on our webiste.

Cowgirl and Indian Princess

Cowgirl

Design by Humans (DBH) has got some colourful new designs out this week. We particularly like this ‘Cowgirl and Indian Princess‘ by a chap(ess) called ‘mezo’. A nice, vibrant, tonal screen print with a large coverage over the t-shirt.

Helsinki, 2007

Team Indigo

The Indigo Clothing team, set off from our Old Street office (sadly minus Opal) for our annual sales and marketing conference, on a cold December Friday evening. This year’s venue was Helsinki, capital of Finland and home country of Essi (our old client services co-ordinator, who left us this winter to go travelling in Australia and Thailand) and we left the office in a jubilant and Christmassy mood. Little did we know that dramas would start occuring within 20 minutes of leaving!

It all started when we were sitting on the Piccadilly Line, comparing silly passport photos when Matt, Indigo’s inhouse web developer, realised he had left his passport on his desk! Jo dispatched him from the train with concise travel instructions and via the miracle of the Heathrow Express, Matt managed to join us in Terminal One with just 5 minutes to spare!

However, he need not have rushed after all. Three hours later, we were still sitting on the tarmac, the plane having broken down and we finally made our way into a deserted Helsinki airport at 0230! Feeling a little worse for wear, after all the free drinks that evening, we were rudely woken up by a fire-alarm at 1000:

The next day involved a mix of meetings, sleeping, sight-seeing, eating (reindeer based products!) and drinking in some sort of order and suddenly it was over before it started, it was Sunday night and we were flying back to London, with bags stuffed full of Moomin merchandise:

Two days later, the trip seems like a distant memory, except there is a little, hippo like, teddy bear sitting on Jo’s desk, serenely looking over us…

Christmas Closing Dates

Xmas-Jo-Steph

Last date for ordering promotional clothing before Christmas will be Monday 17th December (subject to order size and complexity). If you do need screen printing or embroidery before Xmas, we really do advise you get in touch ASAP.

Indigo have just spent the weekend in Helsinki, Finland, on our annual sales conference and we caught up with Essi, ate Rudolph and got well acquainted with the local fire brigade. Jo (left) and Steph (right) got into the seasonal spirit early at the airport - more hilarious stories and photos to follow!

The office will be closed between Christmas Eve and New Year - back to work on 2nd January 2008.
