Keen runners got up early in London yesterday to join Mo for a run in London’s Regents Park. The first 250 runners back also got a free breaskfast at Holdiay Inn, the official hotel provider for the 2012 Olympics and Paralymics.

Indigo’s client Mark, from Madina, has translated his passion for old school music with an amazing t-shirt, titled: “Celebration of the ‘Golden ERA’ 1980s – 1990s“. Rio Ferdinand has also got behind the project:

The atmosphere at Indigo is no different and was recently helped by a printing job we did for the International Olympic Committee and their Youth Olympic Games. The design received was the logo of the games with the tagline ‘Spirit of Youth Olympic Games’, which highlights how YOG DNA stands for an idea rather than any of the specific games.

For an order this size we do production in house and in so doing embody a little of that spirit by printing 60 t-shirts using a painstaking technique. This was done via the vinyl printing process which initially involved our ‘weeding’ workhorse Adam etching out each of the logos individually after they had been printed out (see below).

Once weeded the logos were then passed onto Steph to heat press them onto the garments, and after 60 he had broken enough sweat to warrant it as an entry into the games!

We thought the garments looked great and were pleased we could do our bit for the Youth Olympic Games. It also gave us a taster as to what to expect from London 2012, hopefully this is only the start of Olympic t-shirts, hoodies and other merchandise that Indigo can do. Lord Coe said today in reference to the athletes that “the greatest tool you have is a well-stocked shop window”, and although we may not have a shop window we’re certainly going to be well stocked and ready for the Olympic season.

However if, like me, you fancy your own chances come 2012 (or 2020 more likely) then the guys over at LOVEtennis definitely have the right idea with their recent Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity Day initiative.

At the end of June a joint initiative between LOVEtennis and Chiswick Tennis Club, organised by Christian Gallan, resulted in an afternoon out for many lucky children along with respective family and friends. Indigo was of course happy to provide the printed t-shirts, and wishes Christian and his team the best of luck with their future endeavours!

Indigo used screen printing to produce these t-shirts for mixed martial arts (MMA) brand Scramble. Indigo also prints hoodies for the Scramble store and loves this remix of the classic British poster, “Keep Calm and Carry On”, which produced by the government in 1939 during the beginning of World War II, to raise the morale of the British public in the case of invasion.

Indigo Clothing produced these t-shirts for 29 year old entrepreneur and architect Anthony Lau. Anthony was the designer of the racks that hold the bikes for the new London cycle hire scheme. You can buy the t-shirts from Velorution cycle shop in Great Titchfield Street, Soho.

Indigo have built and launched a dedicated official merchandise store for alumni of Cambridge University at camalumni.co.uk. Indigo printed t-shirts for a new fashion and photography exhibition at London’s beautiful Somerset House. Fashion Revolution will showcase the talents of innovators as various as Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, Gareth Pugh, Kate Moss and Björk – alongside Knight himself.

If you are in town, pop-in and check it out. Jo and Vick went along for the press launch and were talking about nothing else all week!

When Libby was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour aged just eight months old, her parents, Carl and Dawn Finn, were devastated. Their daughter had been born with an optic glioma — a type of cancer that is labelled ‘benign’ but if allowed to grow unchecked can cause serious and irreparable damage to vision.

Throughout Libby’s diagnosis and treatment her parents and siblings have enjoyed huge support locally from family and friends. More recently they’ve gained thousands of new supporters from across the world, thanks to a group detailing Libby’s story on the social networking site Facebook.

Now Carl and Dawn hope to use this support to raise £5million for the unit that helped to diagnose and treat their daughter — the Children’s Brain Tumour Research Centre — as well as other international charities that fund children’s brain tumour research. They hope to provide resources for staff and equipment which will help to speed up brain tumour diagnosis, classification and treatment by setting up a charity in their daughter’s name.

The Liberty Rose Trust also aims to provide a support network for other children suffering with brain tumours and their families. It also aims to raise awareness of brain tumours as the deadliest childhood cancer.

Starlight in Monaco

Indigo Clothing printed t-shirts for the Starlight Children’s Foundation’s recent trip to Monaco where F1 fan Courtney (pictured) got to meet his hero, driver Lewis Hamilton.

It is a great charity and if you have not heard of it, here are some key facts you should know about them:

• Starlight Children’s Foundation is the leading charity in the UK, granting wishes of a lifetime to seriously and terminally ill children, and entertaining children with fun and laughter in every hospital and hospice throughout the UK.
• In its first year Starlight helped just 4 children.  This year, Starlight will help 500,000 sick children throughout the UK.
• Starlight was founded in 1987 by Emma Samms (Fallon Colby from Dynasty). When Emma was growing up, her nine-year-old brother tragically died from aplastic anaemia.  This understandably had a devastating effect on Emma and her family. Years later Emma helped a very ill boy fulfil his wish to visit Disneyland.  She was deeply moved to see the positive effect the ‘wish’ had on the boy and his family.
• Starlight operates with very low fundraising costs, with 91p of every £1 donated helping Starlight’s very ill children.
• Starlight does not receive Government or Lottery funding and relies entirely on the generosity of the general public, companies and trust funds.
• Starlight celebrity ambassadors are Sienna Miller, Matthew Williamson, Bill Nighy, Keira Knightley, Dougray Scott, and Gemma Atkinson all of whom have shown great dedication to helping Starlight’s sick children.   Starlight also receives huge celebrity support in granting wishes from people such as David and Victoria Beckham, Tom Chambers, Orlando Bloom, Sharon Osbourne and McFly – to name just a few.

SESBC outside the Harvard boathouse

Indigo Clothing continues to supply St. Edward’s School Boat Club (SESBC) with their off-the-water kit such a the fleeces and bags modelled here by the coach and boys on their recent American visit to Boston.

These fleeces are by a brand called GameGear (see supplemental catalogue), bags by Quadra . In the past Indigo have supplied SESBC with Stedman t-shirts for charity rowing events.

The author was once upon a time a member of this fine club and is delighted to be supplying them with the quality kit they deserve!
