Hello hello, I am Felicity – variously known as Flea, Flick, Flicko, Wee-Wee and, somewhat unfortunately, Titty (minds out of the gutter, people – she’s a character from ‘Swallows & Amazons’). Perhaps I shall style myself as a cross between Perez Hilton and Belle de Jour, only less bitchy and definitely much less saucy.

Like Kate, I am new to the blogging scene and I’m delighted to be setting sail to Blogland on the good ship Indigo. Amongst other things, I imagine I’ll be writing about:

LUCKY YOU! Don’t be fooled into thinking I’m an airhead though – I am actually quite smart, and hope to infuse my posts with something vaguely resembling insight.

A little about me: I work in a super children’s publishers in London. I live with three ace housemates in Tooting (the social hub of south-west London, I’ll have you know). I have two older sisters. My parents play A LOT of golf. I love food. My friends and I converse using a lot of abbrevs. I think Denmark is pretty much the coolest country in the world. I believe a cup of tea drastically improves any situation. I have exceptionally middle-aged taste in music. I love Good Housekeeping magazine. A boozy dinner is my social situation of choice.

So that’s me, reader. Here’s to a fruitful blogging life – huzzah!

Hello there reader! My name is Kate, and despite being new to the blogging scene (I did at one point think that a blog was a type of porridge) I have thankfully been enlightened and am here to contribute to the Indigo blog. I’ll be able to keep you updated on the cream of the fashion world, avoiding complicated haute-couture jargon such as “babushka” which apparently, aside from being a catchy Kate Bush song, is also a diagonally folded, triangular head-scarf which ties beneath the chin; well I never!

At the moment I’m completing my fourth and final year studying English Literature at St. Andrews University in Scotland, where I enjoy living in a house by the sea with a whistling kettle and designing for a small t-shirt company. Aside from a love of kitschy fashion, children’s illustration and folk music, I get excited when the weather goes frosty and I can see my breath and wear winter hats.

I’m terrified of horses, sleep without a pillow and chill my apples for added crunch. My favourite word is ‘jangle’. If I’ve had a really really terrible day I’ll eat peanut butter from the jar with a spoon, and if I could be a shoe I’d be a clog dancer’s clog, just because I could be.

So there are all my vital statistics covered. I’d love to hear what kind of shoe you would be…and next time you see a passer-by wearing a headscarf tied at the chin don’t forget to compliment them on their lovely “babushka”.

Last week, Jo, Opal and Steph went along to the preview of the new 2008 Stedman range. Stedman is our preferred ‘promotional-weight‘ brand to offer to clients due to its excellent quality-to-price ratio  (or in simple terms – their range is offered at a bargain price with lovely soft feeling cotton to match!).

New for 2008 is two new colours in most styles (e.g. Kelly Green and Orange in the t-shirts) and a new fleece and hoodie is also going to be offer.

The preview had a great party atmosphere, as following the garment preview, a wine tasting competition ensued at Vinopolis in SE1, London. It seems that the team were also very keen on kissing the stone bull (see the pics on Flickr!) before heading to a local watering hole to enjoy the company of the captains of the UK promotional clothing industry!

The new products will appear on the Indigo Promotional Clothing Catalogue over the coming weeks.

Next Thursday sees the official launch of Newconsumer.com, the web’s newest and hottest ethical lifestyle magazine. Packed with daily news, views and interviews on everything green and Fairtrade, the site’s written by the UK’s top ethical journalists including The Guardian’s Lucy Siegle and Richard Hammond, Metro’s Bel Jacobs, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, plus many of the web’s top eco bloggers.

Our friend, and fellow blogger, Adam Vaughan, is the Online Editor and is organising a launch bash in London next week. The Indigo team will be along to wish him, and the magazine, all the best.

Pip, of Unearth Travel (and blog) and resident of the Indigo office is having a birthday party tonight in some smart London suburb and Indigo are providing t-shirts as one of the free goodies for the guests. Iain Hollingshead, author and recent winner of the Bad Sex in Fiction Award with Twentysomething: The Quarter-Life Crisis of Jack Lancaster, has kindly provided the caption for the front of the tees.

The Indigo-go girls (plus Alex) will be joining the Unearth boys to celebrate Pip’s 25th and we would just like to wish him a happy ‘quarter-life crisis’!

Every winter, Innocent, one of Indigo’s clients, raise money for charities that help elderly people stay warm during the winter by having a ‘Supergran’ knitting contest. They knit lots of little woolly hats and stick them on their smoothie bottles. For each behatted bottle sold, 50p is donated to their chosen charity Age Concern. Their Supergran2006 Flickr group shows the hats and the knitters in all their glory.You can help too – just knit hats and send them in. Ouch, my head hurts today! Last night was Indigo’s (late) 4th birthday party (see email invite). It was a great night, thanks go to all those who came and those that bought raffle tickets for Get Kids Going, the charity Julia Parker (Indigo’s first staff member) is collecting money for whilst training for the ING New York Marathon.

Jo spent most of the night yelling out that she had, “just taken a great picture for the blog,” so come Monday morning we’ll get them online for everyone to see.
