Despite an incredibly busy and at times pretty stressful morning the day has ended on a high. London winning the bid for the 2012 games is fantastic. We heard the announcement live over the BBC radio. Having a couple of rowing friends that compete at this level made it all the more personal an occasion. Also on a sporting note I was absolutely thrilled to be selected for the Great Britain Under 25 Rifle Team to compete in the Commonwealth Overseas match in 6 days time. Although not what many people recognise as a major sport, shooting is actually the 2nd largest participant sport in the U.K.
