T-Shirt Reconstruction

Don’t know what to do with that corporate giveaway t-shirt that you were given when you joined your gym? Well apparently the new buzz in fashion circles is about “T-Shirt Reconstruction“. Luckily, ReadyMade have a great little post explaining all which I have republished in part here:

It seems that t-shirt reconstruction has become the new knitting as a crop of books on the subject are hitting store shelves just in time for fairer skies. Titles such as Tease, Generation T, and Rip IT, are all chock full of ways to turn that over-sized concert tee into a something usable.
If you’re looking for something to whip up tonight, there are plenty of projects on this here internet. I’ve got a pile in the closet that I’ve been saving to make the classic Check Out How Much I Used to Rock-Out Quilt. Future prom attendees might try T-shirt Gown for a project that is as equally ambitious but wearable.
Oh My Stars features a selection of wearable transformation tutorials (click on T-Shirt Surgery) including my faves the Off-the-Shoulder Top, and Easy Sleeves. And while it is not technically a t-shirt this springy sweater makeover by Hillary could be used to spruce up a dull tee.
