Get Carrie-d away at M&S

She’s clothed Carrie Bradshaw in tracksuit bottoms and stilettos, prom dresses and white ankle socks, and now she’s tackling the shoppers of M&S. At one time it was distinguished as the best place to buy a pair of Bridget Jones pants, but now Sex and the City stylist Patricia Field has been recruited by the legendary high street giant to inject a little bit of fun onto the rails with her 35-piece collection which she philosophically terms as “the democratisation of luxury”, very deep. This youthful 65 year old New York designer and stylist has created a little something for everyone.  For the more conservative shopper there are tiered floral dresses as well as the classic shift, whilst the adventurous shopper can be satisfied with a lively 1970’s style disco-prom-dress. The big cheese of M&S, Stuart Rose, has suggested that “we all need a bit of fun right now”, and Patricia Field has come just in time to “lift us out of the gloom”. Well there’s very little black I suppose. So now there’s even more reason to go to M&S because…this is not just a range of clothes, it’s a Sex and the City-esque, Patricia Field explosion of colour, texture and design.
