Perfect Christmas present for all you ‘indie boys’ that walk around Camden (London district) with your trousers pulled down so low we can see your Homer Simpson boxer shorts!

Eco Design Fair

Today is a the start of the Eco Design Fair at Cecil Sharp House, 2 Regents Park Road, Camden (London). At £1.50 for entry, it would be a shame to miss out and it continues tomorrow (Sat 24th 2007) too. Surely a place to get some ethical Christmas presents? Otherwise, if it is too cold to head out, just use amazon.co.uk like everyone else!

Meeting The Major

Major

Tonight, I am off to the Strand to have drinks with the man, nicknamed ‘The Major’ at uni, who is credited with placing the first ever order with Indigo back in 2001! After leaving university, ‘The Major’ went off to serve in Iraq with the British Army as part of OP TELIC 3 and continued to order copious quantities of embroidered t-shirts which we dispatched via the BFPO (British Forces Post Office). Looking forward to catching up!

Stedman 2008 Product Launch Party

Party Time

Last week, Jo, Opal and Steph went along to the preview of the new 2008 Stedman range. Stedman is our preferred ‘promotional-weight‘ brand to offer to clients due to its excellent quality-to-price ratio  (or in simple terms - their range is offered at a bargain price with lovely soft feeling cotton to match!).

New for 2008 is two new colours in most styles (e.g. Kelly Green and Orange in the t-shirts) and a new fleece and hoodie is also going to be offer.

The preview had a great party atmosphere, as following the garment preview, a wine tasting competition ensued at Vinopolis in SE1, London. It seems that the team were also very keen on kissing the stone bull (see the pics on Flickr!) before heading to a local watering hole to enjoy the company of the captains of the UK promotional clothing industry!

The new products will appear on the Indigo Promotional Clothing Catalogue over the coming weeks.

Smart Planet

Smart Planet

A new green and ethical consumer blog is now live, edited by our friend Adam Vaughan: www.smartplanet.com

They’ve got first-hand reports on eco fashion shows and the O2 Sustainability Show, interviews with Lush and Jonathan Porritt, plus a video on Londoner’s carbon footprints.

If you like what you see, Adam will be very grateful for you spreading the word via mates, colleagues, blogs, Del.icio.us, Digg, Hugg and that whole social networking thang.

Oh, and if you’re on Facebook, join their group to get first dibs on our soon-to-launch competitions, which include a signed Ewan McGregor book amongst other goodies:

P.S. Indigo Clothing offer a wide range of organic cotton clothing than can be customised.

Hundreds of T-Shirts

Here you will find

I saw this t-shirt book when I was out wandering around Shoreditch with Matt, Indigo’s inhouse web developer, whilst on the ‘Shoot Shoreditch‘ photo competition, on a sunny day in late August in East London. I thought it was rather relevant and the book looked quite good, but in the end I refrained from buying yet another t-shirt design book! There are plenty of websites and blogs online where one can see great designs for free these days (e.g. Threadless, LaFraise, Design By Humans and of course Indigo’s del.icio.us feed).

To see some of the Shoreditch photos see my flickr set. Also check out Indigo’s t-shirt range.

Howies Store

Howies Store

Howies, the welsh, organic clothing, mail-order company, now has a store on London’s trendy Carnaby Street (number 42). They join American Apparel, along with the multitude of other fashion brands that populate this west London area. We’ll certainly be down to check it out soon!

If you are interested in getting organic promotional clothing, or American Apparel stock, check out the relevant pages on the Indigo Clothing site.

New Team Member

Aussie

Hi, I’m Opal and I have just joined the Client Services Team at Indigo Clothing….Yey!

Like many other Aussies I have made the move to London to work & travel. I came over by myself, and yes, it was scary, and yes, I miss my family and friends, but I have met new friends, and I live in a great house share, which is like my new family, made up of French, Portuguese and Japanese.

I’ve had a lot of people asking me “Why would you leave Australia to come live here in London?

Okay, so the whether is not always the best, the Tube is sometimes unreliable and it is a little expensive BUT I think London is an amazing city, so much history and so many different nationalities and now I have been here for 5 months I know why we all make the move, and you know what I know: I’ll be really sad when I have to leave.

Although it’s only my second day here at Indigo I feel very welcomed and know I’m going to have a whole lot of fun. I also look forward to working with all our great customers and suppliers.

Talk to you all soon.
Opal :)

You don’t come to London for the weather…

White Rider

…so said an Aussie music fan called Matt Attlee at his web developer job interview. We practically hired him on the spot - clearly an astute observer of the Met Office reports and ex-pat clichés.

We welcome Matt to the team, who is busy coding a t-shirt store for a high profile client, who we shall announce shortly.

In other news, it was a massive weekend of sport in the UK. Commiserations to the Bryan Brothers, the American tennis doubles players who lost out in the Wimbledon finals. Indigo embroidered their shirts again this year. The Tour de France was also in town and some of the team went to watch the Prologue around Hyde Park (photos). Luckily the sun finally came out!

The Future of Web Apps: Expo

FOWA

Indigo are supporting the latest Future of Web Apps: Expo (London, ExCel 3rd to 5th October 2007), providing printed lanyards for visitors. It is a great conference, Indigo attended in 2006 and it is an opportunity to see the latest and greatest from the web2.0 era talk about the business models and codebases that will shape the web in the year to come.

FOWA is an event organised by Carson Systems, a small Bath based company whose own web apps are well worth checking out too.
