Madonna goes French for Louis Vuitton

Proving that she really is a material girl living in a material world, Madonna has gone and followed in Sean Connery’s footsteps, taking a starring role in the new Louis Vuitton advertising campaign. Madonna pulls out some poses that are a little saucier than Sean’s outdoorsy, unshaven man of the fresh air: ‘There are journeys that turn into legends’ shots.

The man-bag is a bit of a giveaway there Sean

Rather than trying to be ‘Like a Virgin’ this diva shows off her bendy body as she takes on the persona of a cabaret dancer, lifting her legs and Louis Vuitton lace up heels to unnatural angles as she sits in a traditional Parisian café. It has to be said that Madonna’s recent image change is a welcome one. It’s a relief to see that the leotards and thrusting have been ditched for this campaign. Looking effortlessly glamorous as the ultimate performer I have a feeling that Sean might feel a little neglected in the sex-appeal stakes as Madonna holds her fish-netted knee to her face. After seeing these shots my curiosity got the better of me and I did a little Madonna research. I have to say that it’s a bit strange to go and browse through the children’s books this accomplished lady’s written after seeing her as a leggy French seductress straddling chairs in thigh-skimming orange-feather skirts…‘Hooray for the Holidays!’ Who knows, maybe this campaign will provide some new material for her creative childhood literary juices? Watch this space…
