What is the best t-shirt for printing?

At Indigo, we often get asked which t-shirt we recommend. As there are so many t-shirts to choose from it really depends on what a client’s budget is and what the t-shirt is for (promotional giveaway, staff uniform, etc). However, if we really had to pick our favorite we would have to say the Fruit … Read more

New Indigo Clothing Web Site

We had lived with the old website design long enough and behind the scenes indigoclothing.com was cobbled together with various coding technologies and third party scripts. A fresh, light, new design was urgently needed so come March 2012, along came the broom and the site was redone from scratch. The new Indigo Clothing is built in … Read more

TUTORIAL: How to create a vintage t-shirt using DTG

Follow this tutorial to turn your latest design into an authentic looking vintage t shirt print.

The final design will be printed on a Brother GT-541 DTG (Direct To Garment) printer. Our artwork was created in Adobe Illustrator and sized to the largest dimensions possible for the DTG printer (350mm x 400mm). We used a Gildan Ultra Cotton Ice Grey t-shirt for this print as the muted colour helps to create an authentic vintage look.

Halloween doesn’t have to be scary!

The week of Halloween spells the transformation of Frank into Frankenstein’s monster, Derek becoming Dracula, Vera, a Vampire, and Percy going Pumpkin. For one night only everyone tries their best to look as frightening as possible. As I’m not a fan of the seriously scary…even the thought of sitting through The Silence of the Lambs makes me want to reach for my Daddy’s hand and a hide behind a cushion, this Halloween, armed with a bag of cotton wool and some over-the-ear hooks, I will be attending a party in the guise of a giant beard. Scared? You would be.

EASTfield: The death of Stratford Centre?!

So the countdown is over, the major stampede for first day shoppers wanting to grab opening day bargains is done! When Westfield’s Stratford opened its doors earlier this month, I was part of the group of people hugely excited about never having to trek across central London to Oxford Street again!

Whilst it is everything you would expect, an Americanised mall (sorry, I know its Australian!!), large space, big brands and huge stores, it contains names you would never have placed with ‘Stratford’. I grew up being dragged to the Stratford Centre for shopping trips with my mum. A damp run down old indoor market that smelt not dissimilar to a fish mongers! The biggest names in there included a Boots, but generally were the likes of Mark One fashion (think polyester dresses for a £5!), and the notorious ‘in shops’ consisting of indoor market stalls.

Golden ERA

Hip hop’s “golden age” (or “golden era”) is a name given to a period in mainstream hip hop – usually cited as being a period varying in time frames during the 1980s and 1990s said to be characterised by its diversity, quality, innovation and influence.

Indigo’s client Mark, from Madina, has translated his passion for old school music with an amazing t-shirt, titled: “Celebration of the ‘Golden ERA’ 1980s – 1990s“. Rio Ferdinand has also got behind the project:
